The three plays to be produced in the course of this season focus on the concept of exclusion, isolation and disenfranchisement. Between homelessness, ageing and the dreams of youth, this year's three plays will explore how individuals relate to society, and vice-versa.

The Winter Solstice Festival always brings a carnival atmosphere to town, but what happens after all the clowns and acrobats have gone home will leave everyone out in the cold. Karen works with the street kids who inhabit the park where the festival is held, and Gus tries to keep them out of trouble, but will Karen’s work be enough to save them from the cold?

“I’m old! I have a right to complain!”
Mrs Holt – upset, cranky and frustrated with what has become of her world. She's ended up in a nursing home and hates it. With only one small window to the world, and busy staff to keep her company, all Mrs Holt wants is to get back to 1966, when her life held meaning and she ruled the roost.
Of course, she is not actually alone – her work-obsessed granddaughter visits every day, hoping that this will bring meaning to her life. Perhaps she will find what she is looking for in Mrs Holt’s new male nurse? Certainly Mrs Holt can't – she cannot understand why this attentive young man isn't her doctor.
Mrs Holt – longing for the past, lonely in the present.

When she was younger, Jennifer’s grandfather always told her that she was quite the artist. But then her life went in other directions. After his death, she picked up a paintbrush for the first time in years, and her dream came back to life: to own her own gallery where she can paint and sell paintings. It isn’t until her boyfriend Jeff tries to take their relationship to the next level that Jennifer realises that her life isn’t going to go anywhere by itself. The question is, can she embrace her dream, or will she become the so-called “model” citizen that her parents and Jeff want her to become?
