A natural bully, Simon suspects he may have been typecast. Nonetheless, he is very glad to be doing this show – common sense almost prevailed, but he couldn’t resist the opportunity to play the cunning Sergeant Kite and make new friends. Although a committed performer, Simon has mostly been seen offstage for the last couple of years: working as a set designer with his gorgeous and talented wife Imogen; as vice-president of the Queanbeyan Players; and through involvement in the fledgling Canberra Network of Amateur Theatre Organisations. He looks forward to returning to the musical stage later this year in the forthcoming QP production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore.
